The Winners dinner with Graham Henry
All the ingredients were there, elegant guests, wonderful food cooked by two of the country's finest, Stephen Terry of The Hardwick near Abergavenny and Hywel Jones of Lucknam Park near Bath, a table full of fine wines, a very special guest and all in aid of a wonderful cause, Ty Hapus, a charity looking after those with early onset Alzheimer's.
The glamorous Winners dinner was organised by Justine Pickering and the event was held at Cardiff Metropolitan University, in the elegant hospitality suite of the Cardiff School of Management . The event so-called because of the main guest being Rugby World Cup winning coach Graham Henry and his lovely wife Raewyn.
The delicious duo of Laurent Perrier Champagne and Allan Scott Les Joues Rouges, donated by us at Fine Wines Direct, certainly got everyone off to sparkling start and as the evening flowed so did the wine, alongside the amazing menu created by the chefs.
Wines on the night were Laurent Perrier Brut NV, Allan Scott Les Joues Rouges, Chassagne Montrachet Michel Picard 2006, Allan Scott Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Duquesa de Valladolid Verdejo 2010A.C Pommard, Michel Picard, Bodegas LAN Crianza 2005 Rioja and finally, the outstanding (Mr Henry's words, not ours) the 2006 Scott Base Pinot Noir, again by Allan Scott.
We were so happy to be involved in this wonderful evening and were so pleased that we were able to support such a worthy cause in some small way.
